Bounce

Just noticed I didn't post about the new bounce house we got Dylan. I couldn't pass up on the sale price from Kmart!! He loves these things so why not?!

This will be a summer filled with bouncing and jumping. Anyone is more than welcomed to come & enjoy the fun :-)

Memorial Day 2013

Nothing crazy was planned for today. We had Ana & the family over to hang out, try out the new bounce house and enjoy some simple BBQ food.

The kids had a great time playing in the bounce house and in Dylan's playground area. The adults got a chance to chillax as well. It was a beautiful day out.

Unseasonably Cold

Went to the Bradley Beach Memorial Day parade yesterday to see the Ragtimers. It's was cold, rainy and very windy. Before we got there we passed through Avon and saw what was left of the pavilion, snack shop and restaurant.

It's hard to see, but it's all leveled. They raised the boardwalk in that area and are rebuilding the pavilion. There was a huge crane but unfortunately there is nothing there...yet.

We got to Bradley beach and to our surprise there were more people than expected despite the weather. The beach looked smaller than it was and huge rocks were moved to new spots. Therefore you couldn't get to the jetties because there is ocean between the beach and rocks.

The parade started with a sprinkle of rain. It was a very short parade and Budd (I don't think I have to explain who that is to the Estler family) was there. He didn't recognize Tyler because of the facial hair. He took a picture of Tyler and Dylan so those friends with him on Facebook check it out.

The parade was over before we could blink. Walked down the boardwalk and looked at the vendors, but it was just too cold and we needed to get home for Dylan's nap. We made a pit stop at the Jackson outlets to take advantage of my email sale at children's place then home to warm up. Hope today is a bit warmer with our plans to go to point pleasant to meet up with Ana and the family to go on the boardwalk to ride the rides and play the games.

Foot Rest

Such a good boy!

No Longer Wasted Space

Tyler build shelves from scratch to use the space by attic stairs going to kitchen. We can now get rid of the TV unit in living room and have more space for Dylan to play on hi train table. The shelves also cover up the hole in the wall I kicked over a year ago. Don't ask! Need to get more picture frames & bins. Awesome job as alway from my handyman!

Sparklers

Yesterday we took Dylan outside to try out the sparklers we got the last time we were up in Vermont.

He really enjoyed it, unfortunately after the sparkler last night fizzed out he immediately went to touch it & slightly burned his fingers. Took a bit for him to go to sleep but this morning was perfectly fine. Hopefully lesson learned.

Communions

We had two communions this month - Alex and Emma. Both families asked if I could take the the family portraits. I think I did a good job and everyone loved them. First was Alex's.

First a family picture then both grandparents, then uncle and cousin and last was with her godmother. It was off to the restaurant.

The following week was Emma's (the day before Mother's Day). Hers was a bit further away and because it raining I couldn't take pictures outside, but I did at the restaurant.

Love the last picture of me and my brother with Dylan. Both festivities were great and fun as always when it comes to this huge family.

California Desert and Mountains

As you may have seen on Facebook, I went to California for work. It was my turn to go out of state on a case and I got tagged with the furthest. Lucky me! I left Tuesday morning from Philly at 7am. Made a stop in Salt Lake City.

These were from our approach into SLC. After an hour half layover it was off to Ontario, CA (no not Canada).

This was my view the second I stepped out of the small airport, which was 12:30pm western time. LA was 2 hours west of where I needed to go so Ontario was closest. I got my rental, checked into my hotel and headed to my appointment.

My rental! Ugh! They had nothing normal or smaller.

These were pictures taken on my way to my visit. Through the mountains out to the desert. There was not much else out there.

The next day I didn't have to leave until 1pm western time. I was up at 530am! Had a lot of time to kill so I asked what was around the do. Seems not much but an outlet store with a bunch of other stores like target, Burlington coat factory, khols, etc.

Killed time at the stores then headed to return the car and wait for my flight. Had another layover in SLC and from there I started to feel awfully sick with congestion. The drastic temperature changes made it a mess and miserable trip. At least now I won't have to do another trip like this for a long time! 16 hours of flying in less than 48 hours not my idea of fun. Glad to be home with my guys.
